Malware writers turn to all kinds of techniques in order to trick people, infect their computers and reach their goal, no matter if we’re talking about stealing some data or just luring them on malicious websites. As part of their latest attempt, attackers who built rogue security applications even implemented legitimate software supposed to make the data more credible. For instance, Paolo Palumbo of McAfee writes about a malware sample which came with a legitimate screensaver informing him he got infected.
NVIDIA hasn’t even officially released its new D10U-based graphics cards lineup, but a few lucky journalists attending this year’s Computex show were able to spot one of these cards. To make matters even more interesting, despite the fact that the new D10U cards haven’t yet been officially announced, rumors about an NVIDIA new card lineup are already spreading fast. This new GPU is supposed to be dubbed D12U, which should literally make it two generations better than the upcoming lineup.
Noctua, an Austrian designer of silent coolers, announced that would roll out some new products, among which two coolers and a mounting mechanism. The LGA1366 mounting kits will be available both for the coolers currently on the market and for the company’s products rolled out since 2005. The mounting kits will be much simpler to use, as the bolts will be pre-attached to the brace-plate and the thumbscrews will be used to ready the mount, while larger sprung screws will be used later
for compression.
Leading chip manufacturer, Intel Corp. will be forced to pay a $26 million fine, following an investigation by South Korea’s antitrust regulator concerning Intel’s actions of offering discounts to prevent customers from buying products from rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc.
